87 Year Old Race Car Driver Still Active In NW Open Wheel Racing
Mel Anthony, Seattle-based 87 year old midget race driver shares his stories in the book and DVD "Smoke, Sand, and Rubber", tales of his own experiences and life story, plus a glimpse into the daring West Coast midget racers who led an early era in auto racing and with stories about other drivers and tracks in the Northwest.
Mel and son, Dennis, now racing a restored 1947 Kurtis Offy around NW tracks this summer are featured in the DVD, along with Golden Wheels, the vintage racing club who continue to preserve, restore and race. Filled with humor and history.
