February begins with the NW Model Hobby Expo in Monroe, WA featuring family fun for those interested in model planes, cars, boats etc. Feb. 10-12 Evergreen Fairgrounds. (We honor our friend and founder of the show, John Foglesong, who passed away in November after a long, valiant battle with cancer).

The Corvette & High Performance Meet promises to be much fun.
Coming up at Puyallup fairgrounds, the always famous and packed Corvette & High Performance Meet - and certainly not just Corvettes - Feb. 11-12 with show, swap meet and too much fun.
Also on the same weekend is the Salem Invitational Roadster Show at Oregon fairgrounds in Salem.
The following weekend includes the 46th Value World of Wheels in Calgary, AB, Feb 17 and 35th Southern Oregon Rod & Custom Show Feb. 18-19 at Central Point, OR.
The Early Bird Auto Swap Meet will be held at Puyallup, WA, also on Feb. 18-19.

The Swedes will be at the historic Triple XXX Root Beer Drive-In.
At the historic Triple XXX Root Beer Drive-In, the season begins with the 6th Swedish Car Cruise-In featuring Volvos and Saabs on Feb. 19, Issaquah, WA. (See more here) And, to end February, travel to Abbotsford, British Columbia for the Fraser Valley World of Wheels & Back Seat Collector Car Auction slated for Feb. 24-26.

The Latest Scoop is the automotive events magazine for 9 states in the Rocky Mountain region that includes Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma; and going north, Nebraska, Kansas, Utah and Wyoming. It’s been published since 1990 and includes club events such as rallies, cruise-ins rod-runs and tours, as well as endeavors that include auctions, swap meets, races, autocrosses and off-road racing.
The first two pages include a variety of news items on various automotive enthusiasts (example, Rick Barnes of The Mustang Ranch in Golden, Colorado) including any obituaries of those who’ve passed on, (example, Terry Frits of Topeka, Kansas, an expert on the 1970 Twister Special Ford Mustang).
Each issue is a bit more than 50 pages. A recent issue listed about 2,500 events. Its roster of advertisers allows those seeking rare parts or automotive restoration services in the Rocky Mountain area to know where to go. 87 Year Old Race Car Driver Still Active In NW Open Wheel Racing
Mel Anthony, Seattle-based 87 year old midget race driver shares his stories in the book and DVD "Smoke, Sand, and Rubber", tales of his own experiences and life story, plus a glimpse into the daring West Coast midget racers who led an early era in auto racing and with stories about other drivers and tracks in the Northwest.
Mel and son, Dennis, now racing a restored 1947 Kurtis Offy around NW tracks this summer are featured in the DVD, along with Golden Wheels, the vintage racing club who continue to preserve, restore and race. Filled with humor and history.
